Applications of Electrical Resistance Thermometer

Applications of Electrical Resistance Thermometer Points : Applications of Electrical Resistance Thermometer A part from its use in resistance thermometers for direct temperature measurement, the effect of cooling of a heated resistance element due to the flow velocity of gases is also exploited in hot wire ammeters to measure the flow velocity.

The increase in temperature of a platinum resistance thermometer due to catalytic oxidations a measure of the CO2 and H2 content in flue gases. This principle is used in flue gas analysing equipment.

The CO2 content of exhaust gases is measured using resistance thermometers enclosed in chambers containing the gases of ariable thermal conductivity. This is also used for vacuum measurement.
