Precautions for Jointing

Precautions for Jointing Points : Safety Precautions for Jointing
  1. The cable joints are made in this way that the joints are accessible for inspection, when fault is produce or routine inspection. For this purpose, we use inspection type joint boxes.
  2. The joints are mechanically and electrically sound. If joints are loose, then transient produce, which are dangerous for electrical devices.
  3. After completing the joint, soldering the joint and apply a insulation on it.
  4. The Conductors are twister tigitly and it is recommended that, each turn of the wire fitting closely up-to the next. If we use this technique the resistance of the jointing portion is decrease and less heat is produced.
  5. The extra conductor edges are cut off and also make it round or smooth.
  6. Do not make the joints in the outside of the switches, ceiling rose, lamp holder, junction boxes, socket-outlets and plugs etc.
  7. When removing the insulation of the conductor with a sharp knife, keep in mind that the surface of the conductor does not injured.
  8. After completing the joint, solder it and laid on a tape on its jointing surface.
