3. The fuse element is changed very easily.

Disadvantages

1. Low breaking capacity.
2. Protection of fuse is not reliable.
3. Slow speed.
4. It is not suitable for overload.
5. It can’t bear the surge current in case of motor starting.
6. Fuses are not protected the circuit against under voltage.
7. The fusing element of fuse is exposed to air, hence it is oxidized. Therefore the resistance of element is increased and produced heat when Current passing through it.
