Continuity Wiring Test

Continuity Wiring Test Points : Continuity Wiring Test Another lest that has to be taken on completion is to as certain the continuity of the circuit It is essential to reach the phase and neutral wires to each installed device in the wiring circuit. The procedure of this test is that all the lamps are out of circuit, disconnect the fans connection, all the switches are in OFF position and fuses are also out of circuit. (i) Using continuity tester: One terminal of the continuity tester is connected to the first switch terminal and the other terminal is connected to second switch terminal. If the continuity is present between the switches then the lamp will give the light. If continuity is not present, then the lamp will remain in OFF position. Check the continuity between each two switches which are connected in the circuit. The continuity, of neutral wire is also checked through the continuity tester.
(b) Using Megger We connect the megger leads to between two switches terminals. If we turn the megger handle at 120 r.p.m and then if megger shows (he zero ohms it means the continuity is present and if merger shows the infinity ohms it means there is no continuity between the switches.
