Nature of Induced E.M.F

Nature of Induced E.M.F Points : Nature of Induced E.M.F, Dynamically induced emf, Stationary induced emf, Self Induced emf The Emf be able to induced by revolving a coil in a magnetic field or coil reserved stationary and flux linked with it changes. The induced emf can be alienated in two type.
1. Dynamically induced emf
2. Stationary induced emf
In initial case generally the field is stationary with conductors are rotate in a magnetic field. But in second case the coils are stationary and flux linked with it changes by simply increasing or decreasing the current.
Magnitude of Dynamically Induced emf The dynamically induced emf is formed by movement of the conductor in a magnetic field. Uniform magnetic field of flux density B Wb/m2 in which the conductor is moving in the direction as shown in and cuts the flux at right angles.
Statistically Induced Emf When the conductor is stationary and the field is moving or changing, the emf induced in the conductor is called statistically induced emf. A statistically induced emf can be further divided into. Self Induced emf Self induced emf is the emf induced in a coil due to the change of its own flux linked with it. If the current flowing through the coil placed over a piece of magnetic material is changed by changing the value of resistance connected in series, the flux will also change. The flux set up by the coil is changing, hence there is rate of change of flux. The emf will be induced in the coil because of rate of change of the flux set up by the coil. Hence such a emf is called self induced emf. The self induced emf will persist as long as the current flowing through the coil changes. The direction of self induced emf given by Lenz’s law will in such that it will oppose the cause production it i.e., change of current in the coil. Self Inductance: The property of a coil due to which it opposes any increase or decrease of current flowing through it, is known as self inductance (L) and its unit is henry. It may be defined as flux linkages per ampere in the coil.
