Scratch Awl

Scratch Awl Points : scratch awl, definition It is generally difficult to insert a wooden screw into wood, unless there is a small hole. With a scratch awl, an impression is made into the wood before starting. Generally it is made from forged tool steel and has a very sharp point as shown in Fig. as the tool is quite sharp, much care should be taken to handle such a tool, it should never be taken in hand or pocket.
