Range of Tests of Single Phase Induction Type Energy Meter

Range of Tests of Single Phase Induction Type Energy Meter Points : Range of Tests of Single Phase Induction Type Energy Meter A typical scheme of tests for an a.c. energy meter would consists of tests
(a) At the lowest current at which the accuracy is guaranteed (usually 5% of basic current)
(b) AT one intermediate current.
(c) At rated maximum current
(d) At basic current, 0.5 power factor lagging
(e) At the standard current (usually 0.5% of basic current).
(f) At zero current, with 10% excess voltage applied to the voltage circuit, to ensure that the meter does not creep under these conditions.

Tests (a). (b), (c) and (e) are carried out at unity owner with normal voltage applied to the voltage circuit. Test (d) is also with normal applied voltage.
