Advantages: and Disadvantages of Wright Maximum Demand Indicator

Advantages: and Disadvantages of Wright Maximum Demand Indicator Points : Advantages: and Disadvantages of Wright Maximum Demand Indicator Advantages (i) The instrument is suitable for both d.c. and a.c. circuits.
(ii) It is robust and cheaper than the Merz-price type and can he made to withstand heavy momentary overloads.
Disadvantages (i) The instrument being, essentially a maximum current indicator gives the correct readings only on constant supply voltage and constant load power factor.
(ii) The scale of the indicator is not uniform, since its action depends on the square of the current. The lowest values of current are not marked.
