Regarding construction of attraction type instrument, a variation of the idea is to have the vane inside the coil but mounted at an angle on the instrument shaft, which in turn is at an angle from the axis of the coil. Passage of current through the coil tends to rotate the vane so that it lies up with the field direction in the coil. This construction is called the inclined-coil type.
