Motor foundation Points : Motor foundation For the construction of motor foundation, first of all, we design a layout of foundation. The size of motor foundation is always kept according to size of motor. Usually, the size of foundation is equal to (2 x 2 x 3) feet. The concrete foundation is better compare to other types of foundations because the vibration effect is little in this type.

The foundation should be firm’s solid, level and the machines on its bed plate must be securely bolted down to ensure that no movement can take place during the normal working. First of all, we prepared a wooden pattern according to required size of foundation. The thickness of wood, which is used for pattern, is equal to ¾ inch. The size of lower part of foundation is 2¼ ft and the size of the upper part is equal to 2 ft. the length is equal 3 ft. the size of foundation nut bolts is equal to 13 x 1/2 inch. Before filling the concrete in foundation pattern, we always installed the nut bolts in foundation according to motor bed-plate and also fitted the junction box. The size of junction box is (1/8 x 4 x 6) inch. A conduit is also fitted with junction box.

Now, we are filling the concrete in foundation pattern, and when the surface of concrete is become equal b edges of the pattern then we stopping the concrete filling process. The surface of foundation, is made smooth, remaining the foundation in this condition up to one or two days. After one, or two days the foundation is completely prepared.
