Installation Method of Ducting Wiring System
Points : Installation Method of Ducting Wiring System
The ducts are made in a building during construction work. Ducts are made in the floor in shape of
circular or rectangular. After that concrete ducts are made in these digging paths.
Sometimes ducts are made into the walls. This is called skirting. The advantage of this is, because the
entire distribution fuse boards are installed on the walls, therefore connections are easily made. The
ducts are covered with metal or concrete slabs. In ducts cables are easily installed. Ducts are made
according to circuit cables. The size of cable, width, thickness all factors are calculated and in last,
the size of duct finalized. In ducting system we use armoured and sheathed cables. P.V.C and V.R.l
cables are not used in ducts because the insulation of these cables are very thin and chance of
mechanical injury are very vast and risk of short circuit is also possible. The advantage of this system
is that, in large buildings, the alternations and additions are possible, therefore if we use ducting
system, the wiring system remains the same and alternations are easily possible.
