Sometimes ducts are made into the walls. This is called skirting. In ducting system we use armoured and sheathed cables. P.V.C and V.R.l cables are not used in ducts because the insulation of these cables are very thin and chance of mechanical injury are very vast and risk of short circuit is also possible. The advantage of this system is that, in large buildings, the alternations and additions are possible, therefore if we use ducting system, the wiring system remains the same and alternations are easily possible.
